Title: Fishing in the Bays Continue to be the Best We've Seen in Years.

Fishing around the bays this summer has been the best many can remember. We have been catching a lot of big redfish since early April. Although the trout population has not fully rebounded from last years red tide many bigger fish, 6 to 9 pound class, are being caught. Your best bet for trout and reds is to get some live menhaden or elwys, a #1 Mutu Light Circle hook and let them swim. Action can be fast and continuous. If you like plugs, the Excalibur Minnows and Super Pop have been great. Also the Yozuri Pop and Splash has been deadly for everything from spanish macks to lady fish to trout.

Speaking of macks and ladyfish, the bays are full of them. Using the same live bait and lures will be the bomb. The spanish will also hit the straw rigs early in the morning. This year we have been cutting orange, yellow and green sunglass "Shockers" and using them instead of the regular straw. The last longer and will catch you just as many fish.

Offshore we are hearing the baitfish are so thick the king mackerel are to fat and full to eat. You can find enough big and hungry ones to limit out every time you leave the dock. There are a lot of amberjack this year catching your one is easy enough free lining a big blue runner. Lots of snapper and grouper still being caught offshore. The most amazing thing is all of the schoolie dolphin just off the beach with some even being caught in the bays!

Fly fishermen are catching everything but most of all the tarpon are beginning to show up. Some are being caught down the beach and some up in the bays. One of our regulars told us he hooked two 40 pounders near Burnt Mill Creek. Be on the look out! Everything is great this time of year - try to get out and do some fishing.

Fishing has been great try to get out if you can.
